Is Congress Above the Law?

Do our congressmen and women think that they are above the law? Why shouldn't McKinney be charged with assault if she hit a cop, you and I would be charged with assault if we hit a cop. No, congress, you have to live by the same laws that you people impose on us.

“The notion that they would charge her is just beyond ludicrous, regardless of what happened. It sounds like a misunderstanding. She clearly wasn’t intending to assault a police officer.”

You gotta love the Repulicans in the House (unlike the Senate, blech):

McHenry and Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) plan to introduce a resolution today to show appreciation for the Capitol Police.
