Hannity's interview with Dobson

Here's the video. I think that Dobson's threat of a third-party candidate might be actually turn out to be helpful, it warns the base about what would happen even if there wasn't a third-party: conservative Christians will probably sit this one out. They've done it in the past and no one should be surprised that they'll refuse to swallow a pro-choice presidential candidate. The Republican party has to come to grips with the fact that they have to take into account the conservative wing of the party or they can forget about their support in the general.

Ma main concern with Dobson's threat is that the church is viewed as power brokers, just one more special interest group. But what does this have to do with the gospel? Isn't that what the church was commissioned to do?

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

I believe that it's becoming increasingly harder to do our job because the church's leaders have decided to fight for change through the federal government and not through the power of the gospel. It's compromising our message. I do believe that Christians have a place in the political process, I just don't think it's this.
