Democrats see everything as political

The problem with the Democrats is that they see everything about the war as political, Bush can't talk about the war during a speech a national TV because that's too political:

President George W. Bush vowed on Monday to Osama bin Laden "America will find you," as he marked five years since the September 11 attacks with a call for American unity and a plea for support for the Iraq war.

"Whatever mistakes have been made in Iraq, the worst mistake would be to think that if we pulled out, the terrorists would leave us alone," Bush said in an Oval Office address that came amid an election-year debate over the Iraq war and whether America is safer five years after 9/11.

[...]

Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts accused Bush of using the September 11 anniversary to bolster support for an unpopular war.

"The President should be ashamed of using a national day of mourning to commandeer the airwaves to give a speech that was designed not to unite the country and commemorate the fallen but to seek support for a war in Iraq that he has admitted had "nothing" to do with 9/11, "Kennedy said.
Maybe Bush wanted to bring the people together and get their support for a war that he sees as a war on terror. Maybe you can't understand that Kennedy but it's important for the country to be encouraged and it would have been nice if blowhards would have kept their mouths shut for just one night.

When I heard Bush say the following, I thought, "Not when you have Democrats in the Senate" and here I was proved right:

"Our nation has endured trials -- and we face a difficult road ahead," Bush said. "Winning this war will require the determined efforts of a unified country. So we must put aside our differences, and work together to meet the test that history has given us."

And Bush is right about this:
"If we yield Iraq to men like bin Laden, our enemies will be emboldened. They will gain a new safe haven, and they will use Iraq's resources to fuel their extremist movement. We will not allow this to happen," he said. "America will stay in the fight."
Bin Laden will be emboldened by any show of weakness and so will his people. They will think they have won, look at Iran now that Israel was defeated in Lebanon. Bush knows that we must resist the temptation to give in and do what the critics want or the Middle East will be lost and we won't be able to help the other Gulf countries when bin Laden attacks. Democrats have proved they don't believe in this war, we have to make sure that they don't win for the sake of the safety of our children.
