Labor Day Weekend Plans

Our last weekend of summer and it's cold and rainy. One day you're in 107 degree heat and the next you're in the 60's and 70's and the remnants of a tropical storm. So, since it is such a yechy weekend I decided to rent a bunch movies from the library.

Last night we watched Hercules which we haven't seen it in a long time. Usually we buy the Disney movies and watch them over and over again but this one was too scary for Samantha so we haven't seen it since we saw it in the movie theater (Samantha would have nightmares she watched a movie that had a creature with glowing red eyes). But now that she is older, she thought she wouldn't have a problem with it so we rented it.

While we were watching the movie, I remembered those who like to point out the similarities between the story of Hercules and the story Jesus, both born to mortal mothers and both having divine fathers.

"Sarah, Hercules is part god and part man, does he remind you of anyone?"
"Well, I would say Jesus but he's fully God and fully man."
"Ha! I was trying to trick you but you didn't fall for it. Very good, Sarah! Very good."
