The UK needs missionaries

This is so sad! The birth place of the King James Bible and the Puritans, and the home of Hudson Taylor (who founded the China Inland Mission) is predominately unchurched:

Two thirds of UK adults (66%) or 32.2 million people have no connection with church at present (nor with another religion). These people are evenly divided between those who have been in the past but have since left (16 million) and those who have never been in their lives (16.2 million). This secular majority presents a major challenge to churches. Most of them - 29.3 million - are unreceptive and closed to attending church; churchgoing is simply not on their agenda.
I thought the emergent movement was so big in the UK, what is going on over there:
One in seven adults in the UK attends a Christian church each month, with nearly 3 million more people saying they would attend church if only they were asked, one of the largest surveys of churchgoing in the UK reveals today (3 April 2007).

I thought that the emergent church was all about meeting people where they are and being missional. It doesn't seem to be working, not enough Christians are asking people to church. I think we should start sending missionaries to the U. K., it would be an easier gig than going to Africa or Japan (you don't have to learn the language). You don't have to worry about being arrested (unless you defended yourself during a robbery) for sharing your faith like you would if you went to the Middle East.
