I know that people are excited about their candidate and want to get the buzz going about them with good online straw poll numbers but getting caught cheating is embarrassing for your candidate:

People who are able to connect with a radio audience often can connect on TV and in person. Thompson, the actor, plays other people. There's something else to like about Fred Thompson. He doesn't appear to be lusting after the job as if he needs it for his self-image. This, too, is much like Reagan, who knew who he was before becoming president and was the same after he left office.
Today's the big day for the Thompson "campaign" because he goes to meet with members of Congress. Let's see what kind of a reception he gets.
The Tennessean says that it's part of his "pre-decision tour."
