I Don't Think Their Show Suckth

Fick and Oz read my review on their podcast and they weren't exactly filled with joy over it. I guess they had a much higher opinion of the editing of their first podcast than I did. You be the judge if I was fair. I should have mentioned in my review that I think they did a much better job editing after show 2 and that the last two or three podcasts have been broadcast quality. And more importantly, I don't think their show suckth (to find out what that means listen to show 6), why would I listen if I did? Why would I make the effort to download the show since it is more than a pain in the butt to do so. Their site keeps crashing my computer (I haven't figured out how to download mp3's under Firefox yet -- there is no "Save Target" option, so I have to use IE which doesn't like their music player and throws a temper tantrum and crashes my computer). See, I think their show is worth crashing my computer :-).

Also, I should have mentioned in my review that they were no longer youth pastors. I didn't mean to imply that they still were, they had been youth pastors and I think that once a youth pastor, always a youth pastor. Just listen to a couple shows and see if you don't spot the tell-tale signs of a youth pastor.

I listened to this week's show while I was cleaning the dishes, trying to stay awake last night. As I mentioned yesterday, Sarah had friends over for a belated birthday sleepover party. I had to stay up until they went to bed because if I didn't, I was afraid they would stay up to all hours of the night. And as I mentioned yesterday, I only had 2 hours of sleep the night before. While I listened, I was laughing and saying, "No, I didn't" and the girls thought I was insane. It really was a funny podcast, my favorite part was when Oz made Fick take a heretic quiz. Poor Fick, that's a lot of pressure to be under to answer questions that take a lot of thought. When I took the quiz, I had to change an answer or two when I thought through the implications of what they were asking (here is my result). I wrote Oz an email suggesting he make Fick take the Scottish Theologian quiz, that could be humorous (OK, I know that I'm a geek, what do you want, I go to seminary).

So let me make this clear to the Fick & OZ show, their listens, and you, my dear reader, I like the show, I recommend the show and yes, the show is PG-13. I may even buy one of their T-shirts!

BTW, they gave me a such a great idea for something I'm going to do on the blog. They were talking about a Christian Fest that they went to last weekend (see, youth pastor thing) and Fick was talking about the "Screamo bands" and suggested Moonshadow or I should look at the theology of their songs and I thought that was a great idea. On their website they link to Kutless, so after finals I am going to look at the theology of their lyrics on my Reformed Weltanschauung Blogging blog. So, thanks guys for the suggestion. I can always use ideas for blog fodder. See how helpful they are? They saved my life, they give me blog fodder, it's such a great show, you should listen :-).

Updated to add: Well, now I don't have to crash my computer to listen to their show anymore. I found "For Internet Explorer User" in the help menu. They renamed "Save Target" as "Save Link." This is all very confusing and annoying.

Updated again to add: I forgot to mention the fact that Fick quetioned my use of "rumble strip," so I checked the web and this term is widely used. Go here for more information.
