Of course they do, they've been brain-washed by the MSM to think that. No war is popular, why would it be? Who likes to see Americans and civilians killed? And Americans have the attention span of a hummingbird, so why are we surprised that they just want to fix the war so that it will be over soon.
The MSM has let this country down in so many ways but one of the worst is that it has not prepared this country for a long, drawn out war. That's what we are in and will continue to be in for the foreseeable future. People need to realize that what's happening in Israel all these years has spread around the world. People who have been paying attention know this but do those who watch the MSM? Do they know what's going on in Thailand? In Pakistan? In Afghanistan? Probably not. I blame the MSM.
And BTW, Washington Post-ABC News, nobody is stupid enough to believe that those who were polled actually know what's in that report. I seriously doubt 8 in 10 adults have read the thing:
Most Americans think the United States is losing the war in Iraq and support a bipartisan commission's key proposals to change course, according to a poll released yesterday. But the Iraq Study Group's report has become a political orphan in Washington with little backing from either party. Why would any American think that Congress is going to do what you want, they'll do what's politically expedient. And it's become an orphan because the thing stinks so much that even a politician can figure that out. It's that obvious. It was a waste of time and the only one that loves it is the MSM and stupid politicians who just want to get the war off the time in time for their presidential run which brings me to the stupidest political move of the week:
Nearly eight in 10 Americans favor changing the U.S. mission in Iraq from direct combat to training Iraqi troops, the Washington Post-ABC News survey found. Sizeable majorities agree with the goal of pulling out nearly all U.S. combat forces by early 2008, engaging in direct talks with Iran and Syria and reducing U.S. financial support if Iraq fails to make enough progress.
Not all political reaction has been negative. Some congressional Republicans are eager to resolve the issue before 2008 and have urged the White House not to reject the report. "It seems to me that what Baker-Hamilton provides us is a chance to kind of reset the table and get a bipartisan buy-in . . . to what we can do to move forward in Iraq and get our troops out of harm's way and out of the sectarian violence," Sen. Sam Brownback (Kan.) said on "Fox News Sunday."He just lost my support (which was already tentative at best). If a conservative wants to negotiate with terrorists and wants to remove our troops before Iraq can stand on its own, then he demonstrates he doesn't understand this war and shouldn't be in charge of it. And I'm tried of politicians who are more worried about elections than what's right for the country and how to govern it. He has lost any support I was thinking of giving him.
